Renegade (also known as Blueberry) is a strange little Western movie apparently based on a comic book. It is heavily into Indian spiritualism, with drug-induced spirit trips portrayed with vivid computer-generated special effects. It centers on the story of the hero and villain who tangled in the past running into each other again, with the villain looking for a map to a source of mystical Indian power. With a great ensemble cast, this is a great source for ideas for am adventure. Rated R for violence and underwater, full-frontal nudity from the ever naked Juliette Lewis.

I saw Silverado at an advanced screening where we filled out a survey afterwards. The 2-disc Superbit Gift set linked here is cool because of the 20 page booklet and the Silverado playing cards. Being the card collector I am, I could not resist getting this.

This is another one of those movies that lends itself well to gaming because it has a whole group of characters working together. So many Westerns seem to focus on the lone gunman with a supporting cast that just does not work for a group player characters, but Silverado does.

Tombstone is another great group Western. It is the story of the Earps with Doc Holliday going against the Clantons and the Cowboys in Tombstone with the famed climax at the O. K. Corral.

This movie has a great ensemble cast, but Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday and Powers Booth as Curly Bill really stand out.

I just recently purchaced this copy ofThe Magnificent Seven. Talk about one of the all time classic group Westerns. Room for up to seven player characters from diverse backgrounds going against a clear-cut enemy.

A poor village harried by banditios convince seven gunslingers to come save their village. The gunslingers include Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn and Yul Brynner. Based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai this is a classic adventure.
